Get ready to ride! The Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD), in partnership with Chico Velo, is thrilled to announce the official groundbreaking of the Chico Bike Park — a bold new adventure park designed for riders of all ages and skill levels. Join us for the celebration on Wednesday, July 16 at 9:30 AM at the park’s future home on Humboldt Road, between Forest Avenue and Notre Dame Boulevard. The groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the future concessions area, located at the midpoint of the property. You can find a pinned map here.

Spanning six acres, the Chico Bike Park will be a vibrant and inclusive hub for outdoor fun — complete with features and trails tailored for everyone from beginners to seasoned pros. Whether you're coasting through your first pump track or hitting advanced jumps, this park will offer something for every kind of rider.

“Working with Chico Velo on a project of this scale and impact has been incredibly exciting,” said CARD Parks Director Scott Schumann. “The Chico Bike Park will be an inclusive, dynamic space that encourages people of all ages to get outside, get active, and connect through biking. It’s truly a win for the entire community.”

The park is being made possible thanks to the vision and generosity of the Lupine Legacy Foundation, whose support is turnning this long-held dream into a reality.

The public is warmly invited to attend the groundbreaking and be part of this historic moment in local recreation. Parking is available at Marsh Junior High School.
