    Administration 

    Recreation Director

    • Provides strategic leadership, direction, and comprehensive administrative oversight for the Recreation Division, including the staff responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating the District's recreational programs. This includes ensuring inclusive services and leisure activities for community members of all ages and abilities. The role requires significant community engagement and interaction with elected officials, policymakers, and the public. As a member of the District’s Senior Leadership Team, this position collaborates with the General Manager and other Divisions to align strategy and policy with the District’s mission and core values, ensuring their integration into all operational activities and services.

The Chico Area Recreation and Park District is looking for a full-time recreation coordinator to join our team! The ideal candidates will have a passion for recreation as well as possessing strong people and management skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with and coordinating inclusive programming for children with disabilities, have excellent customer service skills, be well organized, professional, and reliable. In addition, the successful candidates will have a proven track record in cultural competence, inclusivity,  adaptability/flexibility, clear communication and customer focus.  This position reports directly to the Recreation Manager.

    Internship

    Parks & Recreation Internship

    • Part-Time, Hourly
    • $16.00/hr
    • Gain professional experience with a special recreation and park district in Northern California. There are two intern positions available - One working primarily in Recreation Programming and one in primarily Parks and Facilities Management.
    • Applicants whose experience and training are most closely suited to the needs of CARD will be selected for interviews. Criteria will be based on knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position.
