Celebrate Dad in Style at CARD’s Father’s Day Weekend BBQ

The Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD) invites families to kick off Father’s Day weekend at Chapman Park with a brand-new celebration: the Father’s Day Weekend BBQ, happening Saturday, June 14th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

This free, family-friendly event is packed with summer fun—including live music, outdoor games, a splash pad to cool off, and delicious treats for all. Guests can enjoy free hot dogs grilled on-site by the Chico Firefighters, free popcorn, and a refreshing scoop of Savor ice cream, all while enjoying a day in the park with the people they love most.

Live entertainment will be provided by Zen Stampede (11:00 AM–12:30 PM), bringing energetic, danceable party tunes, and Emma & Will (12:45–1:45 PM), who will keep the good vibes going with their acoustic covers of classic and modern favorites.

“This is such a fun new event for CARD,” said Public Outreach Specialist Lindsey Barrett. “The splash pad is open, the music is playing, and Chapman Park has such a warm, welcoming community feel. We’re so excited to bring families together to relax, play, and celebrate Father’s Day weekend in one of our favorite parks.”

Attendees can also enjoy classic summer games like corn hole, take a spin around the playground, or shoot hoops on the basketball court. With activities for all ages, the Father’s Day Weekend BBQ is the perfect way to spend a sunny Saturday with Dad.
