Chico’s 4th of July Parade Returns with Big Community Spirit!
June 27, 2025

Celebrate Independence Day in true Chico style at the 2nd Annual 4th of July Parade, hosted by Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD)! This free, family-friendly event will take over Downtown Chico on Friday, July 4 starting at 9:00 AM sharp, and promises a morning full of red, white, and blue fun for the entire community.
This year’s celebration will be bigger and more festive than ever before. Local businesses, schools, nonprofits, and individuals have come together to show off their creativity and community pride. Expect to see colorful floats, costumed performers, vintage vehicles, cool cars, patriotic music, and more—all ready to bring the streets of Downtown Chico to life! After the parade, head to the City Plaza for a special performance by the Chico Community Band!
“This parade is truly a labor of love,” said Lindsey Barrett, CARD’s Public Outreach Specialist. “Our team has worked hard to make it happen, but what really makes it special is how many community members have stepped up to participate. Seeing all the new entries this year shows just how much Chico loves to come together and celebrate.”
Everyone is encouraged to wear their most festive patriotic gear, wave a flag, and join neighbors, friends, and visitors in cheering on the parade from the sidewalks. Whether you’re a first-time attendee or continuing a new family tradition, this is a celebration you won’t want to miss.
“We’re thrilled to bring the 4th of July Parade back to Downtown Chico,” said Holli Drobny, Administrative Director at CARD. “It’s a joyful, feel-good event that brings people of all ages together to celebrate our country, our community, and the spirit of togetherness that makes Chico so special.”
The parade is made possible thanks to the support of generous sponsors including Culligan of Chico, Concours Elite, The Blaze 103.5, Mix 95.1, and KZAP 96.7.
