Board Election Procedures and Filing Deadlines

Trustee Area 1 Vacancy

The Chico Area Recreation and Park District (CARD) is seeking applications from dedicated community leaders residing in Trustee Area 1 to fill the vacant Board of Directors position.  The Board of Directors is responsible for establishing the policies and structure of the District. Additionally, they provide for the faithful implementation of those policies, which is the responsibility of the General Manager.

Serving as a member of the Board provides an opportunity to represent and advocate not only for the recreational needs of their Trustee Area but that of the greater Chico community.  The appointment term is through 2024.  CARD’s Governing Board is comprised of 5 members representing the Trustee Area in which they reside.  For more information about CARD, please visit or call (530)895-4711.

Required Qualifications:

  • 18 years or older
  • Must be a registered voter of the district
  • Must live in the Trustee Area 1
  • Not convicted of a felony and no misdemeanor convictions for at least four years
