Youth Scholarship Program

Scholarships are awarded in the form of reduced payments for CARD programs, and are available to CARD participants ages 1–17 whose families meet income requirements.

Play & Learn Toddler Programs

CARD’s Toddler Play & Learn programs can be an exciting and fun opportunity for you and your child to improve current skills, learn new skills, make friends, and have fun. This is also an opportunity for us to create a parenting community and share development milestones.

Budding Buddies

Join us with your little one at the Dorothy F. Johnson Center toddler-specific classroom to play! Budding Buddies will feature our amazing Toddler Director, Ms. Dallas, who will lead circle time songs, activities, and story time each week. Each session will feature a craft, a hands-on activity area, and an imaginative play set up for you and your littles to explore together.

Nature School

Nature School is a first learning experience for kids ages 3-5, who are potty trained and ready for an experience away from their family. This program has zero screen time and is predominantly held outdoors. Nature kids get to visit live animals at the Nature Center, go on nature walks daily and practice nature identification along the way. We provide fun themes every two weeks and work on social emotional and school readiness skills. All units include play-based learning, healthy body movement like yoga and dancing, themed stories, songs, art projects, sensory exploration and sign language. We PLAY, we teach KINDNESS, and we truly nurture a love of NATURE!

Baby Ballet 1

Through dance and music exploration, our Baby Ballet classes provide enrichment in a child’s physical, social, emotional, language, and cognitive development. Every class provides child-centered and age-appropriate activities taught by very loving and skilled instructors.

Nature ABC's

Nature ABC's is a time for families of children ages 0–5 to gather and enjoy an hour of fun free activities with our instructor. Join us Fridays from January 13th through May 12th for an animal visit, story time, singing and dancing, an art project and a nature walk in our beautiful park. This program is offered free of charge through funding from First 5 Butte County. Session one offered August-October and March-May only

Gymnastics- Popping Preschoolers

Students will crawl, jump, roll, balance and more as they gain strength and coordination. Fun games and music will make this class a winner for your preschooler. Teaching and building skills require the ability to listen and follow instruction. This class is for children who are fully self-directed and able to follow the coach’s instructions without parental guidance.

ShortE Programs: 3-5 Years Old

CARD "ShortE" programs are specifically designed for 3-5 year-olds. Each program will feature paid coaches that create a positive, non-threatening environment for your little one to gain a "love of the game." Staff use age-appropriate equipment, modify stations and games, and are specifically trained to work with toddlers to make sure all participants are set up for success.

Tap/Jazz Combo Dance Class

This is a perfect combination class for young dancers ages. Tap dancing develops a keen sense of rhythm, timing and musical awareness. Jazz dance introduces a stylistic dance vocabulary for a fun, funky and expressive way of dancing.

Tiny Tumblers

Teaching and building skills require the ability to listen and follow instruction, parent participation may be necessary for those toddlers that need a little extra help keeping a productive and safe class for all.
