Celebrate Halloween Poolside at CARD’s Pumpkin Splash!
September 15, 2025

This October, families are invited to celebrate Halloween in a unique and memorable way at Pumpkin Splash, an annual event hosted by the Chico Area Recreation & Park District (CARD). On Saturday, October 4, from 1–4 PM at the PV Pool (2320 North Ave), the pool will transform into a one-of-kind floating pumpkin patch, offering families the perfect blend of festive fall fun and refreshing poolside activities.
Kids of all ages can jump in, pick out their favorite pumpkin straight from the water, and get creative at the pumpkin decorating station with paint, stickers, and more. The fun continues with a fall craft station, sugar cookie decorating hosted by Fudge & Crumble, hot drinks from Bidwell Perk, and a free photo booth to capture the festive memories. DJ Tilda will keep the energy high with spooky beats throughout the afternoon.
“Pumpkin Splash has become a very special Chico Halloween tradition for a lot of families,” said Lindsey Barrett, CARD’s Public Outreach Specialist. “With the beginning of October still being so warm, it’s a fun way to celebrate the seasons changing and the start of fall.”
Tickets are $10 per participant, which includes one pumpkin, decorating supplies, pool admission, and access to all activities.
This year’s Pumpkin Splash is made possible thanks to the support of local sponsors. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, visit chicorec.gov/sponsor.
