Youth Dog Obedience Class

Training Goals:

Learn basic commands

1. Heel

2. Sit

3. Come

4. Down

5. Stay

6. Socialization

Training Methods: Positive Reinforcement using praise and treats, will introduce Clicker Training for Precision.

Progress Monitoring: Discuss progress at beginning of each class with review of previous weeks session. Class will end with questions and behavior concerns. Students will be encouraged to keep a notebook of their home training sessions to include date, start/end times and note on how lesson went.

Materials: Proof of Rabies vaccination needs to be shown at first class. Students should wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle. Dogs need a collar and leash. Dog treats and clickers are optional.

In addition to Training Sessions, Students will be asked to work with their dogs at home for 15 minutes a day.
