During our week together, we will do a variety of classic camp crafts. We will make beaded animal keychains, beaded bracelets, and learn to use basic bead looms. Students will also weave small bags, make woven mandalas, and tie-dye bandanas. There will be lots of variety and explorations of different materials in this camp.

Are you interested in making movies? Have you ever wondered what it’d be like to be a cinematographer, a video editor, or a director? Come join the next generation of Chico film makers. Learn video making techniques from accomplished film makers, teachers, and students. Students will be given a prompt and work in small groups to create a short film.

Design, print and sell your own T-shirts with Pedal Press! Workshop participants will learn in our Fair St. studio, fundamental graphic design concepts, how to design for screen printing, how to prepare screens, and print their own t-shirts! Each participant will print a small run of T-shirts to sell at a local pop-up/Thursday Farmers’ Market. Campers can keep their remaining shirts or sell them on our Youth Art web store!

Tie-Dye Camp offers the ultimate summer fun experience! Campers will begin by exploring color theory and experimenting with color mixing techniques of their choice. Next, they’ll dive into various folding and tying techniques, manipulating different materials through wet dyeing, dry dyeing, and ice dyeing methods. Each day, campers will create their own colorful masterpieces, which they’ll get to take home and share with friends and family.

Our Toddler Summer Camps for children ages 3-5, are led by our amazing, dedicated toddler staff and take place in our specially curated toddler classroom at the Dorothy F. Johnson Center.
